Swift and Kelce to Wed at Madison Square Garden This Friday

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are set to tie the knot at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Friday night, according to a law enforcement official briefed on the security plans. The couple will host a smaller rehearsal dinner on Thursday before the main event, the official told the Associated Press (AP).

Wedding Details Emerge

Since announcing their engagement in August 2025 via a joint Instagram post that read "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married," fans have speculated about the wedding date and venue. Recent rumors suggested a July 4th weekend wedding, a date that aligns with Swift's known fondness for the US independence day, which she has historically celebrated with large parties.

Nothing has been publicly confirmed by the couple, but crews have been seen unloading equipment from trucks outside Madison Square Garden, including a large carpet briefly unveiled and then removed. New York Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch said at a press conference on Wednesday that the department is tracking an event at the arena, adding, "The NYPD will, of course, have a detail in place, but I’m not going to go into more specifics at this time."

Official Confirmations

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani also confirmed to AP that a permit was filed for a large event. "We are fully prepared. There isn’t anything to share beyond that," he said.

The wedding comes weeks after Swift choked back tears as she became the youngest woman inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. She paid an emotional tribute to her parents and brother at the New York ceremony, thanking them for uprooting their lives from Pennsylvania to Nashville to support her music career.

Swift and Kelce's Relationship

Swift has referenced Kelce in her UK number one album, The Life Of A Showgirl, including the song "Opalite," which mentions his birthstone, opal. Kelce plays for the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs.
