Kris Boyd has branded Rangers a "pub team" following their Europa League exit to Jablonec, and warned that Derek McInnes' job is now under threat just weeks into the season.
The Ibrox side were dumped out of the Conference League and Europe altogether after losing 1-0 on the night and 4-3 on penalties, following an unconvincing 1-0 first-leg win at Ibrox.
Boyd's scathing assessment
Former Rangers striker Boyd let rip in the aftermath of the defeat, speaking to Sky Sports.
"Absolute pub team," he said. "They've been terrible. Devoid of any ideas. No creativity. They've just been going long and hoping that something is going to happen. This was coming. They are absolutely miles off it."
McInnes under pressure
Boyd also addressed the position of manager Derek McInnes, suggesting his future is now in question.
"Derek McInnes, you've got to say, his job will be under threat after this evening," he added. "It has been terrible."
Rangers' European dreams were crushed at the first hurdle by Jagiellonia Bialystok, but they were expected to be too strong for Czech outfit Jablonec. The defeat means Rangers will watch from home as champions Celtic and runners-up Hearts play in the Europa League and Conference League respectively, after Celtic were dumped out of the Champions League playoff by LASK.
