Duncan Ferguson set for Glentoran manager return

Duncan Ferguson is set to become Glentoran's new manager, according to a report. The former Rangers striker is the man the Glens have chosen to take over on a permanent basis following Declan Devine's sacking last month.

Ferguson to take reins at Glentoran

Former Celtic maverick Paddy McCourt has been in temporary charge, but the Belfast Telegraph reports that it will be Ferguson and not the current interim boss who will be handed the reins.

Ferguson has been out of the game since being sacked by Inverness Caledonian Thistle in 2024, a day after the Highland club was plunged into administration. The 54-year-old was previously in charge of Forest Green Rovers following two temporary stints managing his beloved Toffees.

Return to the dugout

He had previously served as first team coach and assistant manager at Goodison under Carlo Ancelotti and Rafa Benitez. Ferguson has been keen to make his return to the dugout, saying: “I want to get back into management. “I’ve made a couple of crazy decisions in my career in management, but that’s because I was desperate to get in.”
