Alexander Sorloth's father has admitted that the 30-year-old has been left irritated during the World Cup as Norway gear up to face England in the quarter-finals. Former Norway international Goran Sorloth claimed that Stale Solbakken's deployment of his son has irked the former Crystal Palace striker.
Positional Frustration
Due to goalscoring powerhouse Erling Haaland leading the line, Sorloth has been forced to play out wide for Norway. He was substituted during half-time of their famous 2-1 win over Brazil, a decision that did not sit well with the player.
Goran told Dagbladet: "He gets irritated about being taken off, he should be every day all year round. Regardless of whether it's the World Cup, the European Championship or a regular international match."
No Lasting Resentment
Despite being left angered by the decision from Solbakken, the forward's father insisted there was no love lost from the incident. He said: "I don't think there was a heated discussion with Ståle Solbakken. They know each other so well that there was talk of exchanging things and things. They are still the best friends in the world. Together they believe that they can go far."
