Prince Harry booed at Leicester rugby club Welford Road

Prince Harry was met with boos as he arrived at Leicester's rugby club for the Gallagher Premiership match against Gloucester on October 9. The Duke of Sussex was shown on the big screen taking his seat in the stands while drinking a beer, according to Leicestershire Live.

Mixed reception at Welford Road

The Duke of Sussex, who recently relocated back to the UK with his wife Meghan Markle and their two children, is a passionate rugby union fan. Despite his enthusiasm for the game, his appearance at Welford Road was greeted by a chorus of boos from the crowd.

Return to Britain

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex touched down in Britain in late August, bringing Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet back from the US for what is expected to be an extended stay. Since their arrival on August 26, the couple has been establishing a new base outside of London, with their children enrolling in British schools for the autumn term.

Ongoing support for rugby

While they retain their home in California and remain non-working royals, Harry has recently been making a handful of public appearances and has now been spotted in Leicester. Having previously served as the patron of the Rugby Football Union (RFU) - a role now held by the Princess of Wales - he has remained an ardent supporter of the game.
