Moses Itauma will challenge Filip Hrgovic for the IBF world heavyweight title at the O2 Arena in London on 13 December, according to the fight's promoter.
Undisputed Champion Vacates Belt
The bout was confirmed after the undisputed champion, Oleksandr Usyk, vacated the IBF title earlier this week, paving the way for the clash between the unbeaten contenders.
Itauma, 20, has won all 11 of his professional fights, with nine victories coming inside the distance. Hrgovic, 32, holds a 17-0 record with 14 knockouts.
High Stakes in London
The fight will be a significant step up for Itauma, who has yet to face an opponent of Hrgovic's calibre. The Croatian has been a mandatory challenger for the IBF title since 2023.
Promoter Frank Warren said: “This is a fantastic fight for British boxing and a huge opportunity for Moses. Filip is a top-class operator, but Moses has shown he is special. It promises to be a night to remember at the O2.”
The winner will become the new IBF heavyweight champion, with Usyk expected to pursue unification bouts against other titleholders.
