Wrexham owner Ryan Reynolds has signalled the club's intent for a busy summer transfer window as they prepare for life in the Championship. The Welsh side secured a third consecutive promotion in April, breezing through League One at their first attempt.
Speaking on the RobRyanRed fan podcast, Reynolds said: "We're coming to win. I can't give you a dollar figure, but I can tell you that we are going to be as aggressive as we can possibly be while being mindful of sustainability." Co-owner Rob McElhenney added that they typically learn of signings late, after manager Phil Parkinson has already made the deals.
Parkinson, who has enforced a 'no superstars, no egos' policy, is targeting several players. Among them are West Ham left-back Aaron Cresswell, Swansea centre-back Harry Darling, and Fulham captain Tom Cairney, all of whom have uncertain futures at their current clubs.
Cardiff forward Callum Robinson and Plymouth striker Ryan Hardie are also on Wrexham's radar. Robinson ended the season as Cardiff's top scorer despite injury, while Hardie, who has a reported £2million release clause, scored 10 goals in the Championship last term.
