Wrexham Legend Mickey Thomas Makes Bold Premier League Prediction
Wrexham could reach Premier League in 10 years

Wrexham legend Mickey Thomas has made a sensational claim that the Welsh club could be playing Premier League football within the next 10 years, thanks to their Hollywood-backed revolution.

The former Manchester United and Chelsea winger, who became a cult hero at the Racecourse Ground, believes owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have transformed the club's fortunes since their 2021 takeover.

Hollywood Magic Transforming Welsh Club

Thomas told The Mirror: "With the owners they've got now, I can see Wrexham being in the Premier League in 10 years. The way the club is progressing, the way they're doing things, it's possible."

The 69-year-old added: "They've taken the club to another level. The documentary has helped massively and the owners have been fantastic with their investment."

From Non-League to Premier League Dreams

Wrexham's remarkable journey under their celebrity owners has already seen them secure promotion back to the Football League after 15 years in non-league football. The club's popularity has skyrocketed globally thanks to the Welcome to Wrexham documentary series.

Thomas, who scored one of the most famous goals in FA Cup history for Wrexham against Arsenal in 1992, believes the club's current trajectory could see them emulate the likes of Bournemouth and Brentford in climbing from the lower leagues to the top flight.

Challenges Ahead

However, the former Wales international cautioned: "It won't be easy. They'll need to keep making the right decisions with managers and players, but the foundations are there."

Wrexham currently compete in League Two and are pushing for back-to-back promotions under manager Phil Parkinson. Their matches regularly attract capacity crowds and global attention unheard of at this level of English football.
