World Snooker Championship 2026: Prize Money Breakdown

The 2026 World Snooker Championship is set to unfold at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, where 32 competitors will vie for the sport's most coveted title. Beyond the prestige, substantial financial rewards await, with a total prize fund of £2,395,000 up for grabs.

Prize Money Breakdown

Every player who reaches the main draw is guaranteed at least £20,000. The champion will pocket a handsome £500,000 cheque, while the runner-up receives £200,000. Semi-finalists earn £100,000, quarter-finalists get £50,000, and those reaching the last 16 take home £30,000. Players exiting in the last 32 receive £20,000, and further qualifying rounds offer £15,000 (last 48) and £10,000 (last 80). Even those falling at the last 112 stage earn £5,000.

Bonus Incentives

Additional prizes are available for exceptional performances. The highest break of the tournament is worth £15,000, while a maximum 147 break earns an extra £40,000, on top of the highest break prize. If multiple players achieve the same break, the bonuses are shared. Notably, China's Chang Bingyu already secured a 147 during qualifying, earning him £172,000 despite failing to qualify for the main event. However, that sum will be split if another maximum is achieved in the tournament proper.
