A Wolverhampton Wanderers supporter who was taken to hospital following a medical emergency during Saturday's Championship clash with Cardiff City has issued a reassuring update on his condition.
Wolves fan Chris Nock confirmed he was discharged from hospital shortly before midnight after receiving medical attention following the incident at Molineux.
Match halted after 28 minutes
The match between Wolves and Cardiff was halted after 28 minutes when players and supporters alerted officials to an apparent medical emergency in the home end, prompting medical staff to rush towards the South Bank stand.
Nock has now taken to social media to reassure those who had expressed concern for his wellbeing. Writing on X, he said: "Just to let everyone who has asked about me that I'm fine. Was released from hospital just before midnight and apart from having to take it easy for a bit, I'm ok. Thanks for every message, I appreciate it."
In a separate post, he confirmed he had been checked over at New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton.
Players alert officials
Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa was among those seen gesturing towards the crowd as the referee brought proceedings to a halt. Other players also signalled for assistance before medical personnel entered the stand to attend to the situation.
Supporters at the ground reported hearing people shouting for medical help, with Sa subsequently praised for his quick thinking in alerting officials.
The stoppage lasted more than three minutes before play eventually resumed, with Cardiff trailing 2-0 at the time.
Cardiff City statement and match result
During the interruption, Cardiff City issued a statement on social media which read: "Play has now resumed following a delay, where the medical teams were called into the home end. While it is unclear what has occurred at this time, our thoughts are with those affected."
It was subsequently reported that the supporter had been able to walk with medics to another area of the stadium to receive treatment.
The match eventually finished 3-0 to Wolves, with first-half goals from Fer Lopez and Adam Armstrong putting the hosts in control before Ladislav Krejci added a third after the interval.
