Amazon Prime Video has renewed its exclusive streaming rights for a package of WNBA games for the 2024 and 2025 seasons, bringing women's professional basketball back to UK screens. The deal includes 21 games per season, culminating in the Commissioner's Cup Championship Game.
While Prime Video holds exclusive global streaming rights for these games, the UK is excluded from that exclusivity, meaning the games will also be available on other platforms such as the BBC. This arrangement ensures wider access for British fans.
The renewal comes amid growing interest in women's sports, with the 2023 Commissioner's Cup attracting record viewership on Prime Video. The league is also set to welcome high-profile college stars like Caitlyn Clark and Angel Reese, which is expected to boost fan engagement further.
Prime Video's sports portfolio in the UK already includes Premier League football, and this extension underscores its commitment to women's sports. The full schedule for the 2024 WNBA season on Prime Video will be announced in the coming weeks.
