Violent Ends: Brutal Crime Thriller Now Streaming on Paramount+

A brutal new thriller film that is a must-watch for fans of the likes of Line of Duty and Ozark has just been made available to stream on Paramount+. Titled Violent Ends, this taut crime drama stars Billy Magnussen (No Time to Die) and James Badge Dale (Yellowstone: 1923), and is set in the Ozark Mountains. The film has been described with the intriguing premise of Romeo and Juliet meets Scarface.

A Gripping Revenge Plot

Magnussen stars as Lucas Frost, the black sheep of a notorious crime family who is trying to lead an honest life and leave his family's dark legacy behind him. However, Lucas is left distraught when his fiancée, Emma (played by Alexandra Shipp), is killed during a robbery committed by his own cousins, including the unhinged and sadistic Sid (Dale). Convinced that the deputy sheriff, who also happens to be his mother Darlene (Kate Burton), will not deliver the justice his cousins deserve, Lucas teams up with his half-brother Tuck (Nick Stahl) to track down Sid and his gang to enact their revenge.

Unique Setting and Performances

Violent Ends stands out from other thrillers of a similar ilk with its unique setting of the Ozarks in the 1990s, and offers blistering performances from the main cast in an action-packed revenge film that will have viewers on the edge of their seats. If you are stuck on what to watch this weekend, Paramount+ has just added the film to its library this week.

Fan Reactions

One fan on IMDb said: "This thriller tragedy starts slow and ends with a bang. The story is a cross between Romeo and Juliet and Scarface, which is self-explanatory. There is some action, but it's the thrills, suspense, and twists that make the movie truly captivating."

Someone else warned viewers that Violent Ends is not for the squeamish, penning: "You can't name your film Violent Ends and not have some reasonably high levels of violence throughout the movie. And it does. It is quite brutal at times. What I really liked though was that it made the bad guys really monstrous. They were pure evil and it was especially easy to root for the good guys for this reason. A very important element to any revenge movie."

And a final fan raved it was a "wonderful crime movie" and went on: "I was not expecting much from this movie but it surprised the hell out of me. Violent, rugged, raw, shocking and moving all at the same time. If you want a well made crime movie that is very heavy and atmospheric give this movie a try. It pulled me in right from the very start and didn't let go. Also has very well written dialogue too that will pull you in."
