A gripping new crime thriller, Violent Ends, has landed on Paramount+, offering a tense and brutal revenge story set in the Ozark Mountains. The film stars Billy Magnussen (No Time to Die) and James Badge Dale (Yellowstone: 1923), and has been described as a cross between Romeo and Juliet and Scarface.
The plot follows Lucas Frost (Magnussen), a member of a notorious criminal family trying to escape his past. When his fiancée Emma (Alexandra Shipp) is murdered during a robbery by his own cousins, including the ruthless Sid (Dale), Lucas teams up with his half-brother Tuck (Nick Stahl) to seek vengeance. The film's 1990s Ozarks setting and strong performances have drawn comparisons to Line of Duty and Ozark.
Early reviews praise the film's suspense and twists. One IMDb user wrote: 'This thriller tragedy starts slow and ends with a bang... It's the thrills, suspense, and twists that make the movie truly captivating.' Another viewer cautioned: 'It is quite brutal at times... the bad guys were pure evil, making it easy to root for the good guys.'
A third fan called it a 'wonderful crime movie' with 'very good atmosphere, fantastic acting, great cinematography and good editing.' They added: 'It pulled me in right from the very start and didn't let go.'
Violent Ends is now streaming on Paramount+. New users can access a seven-day free trial via Amazon Prime's Paramount+ channel.
