Vinicius is entering the final 12 months of his contract. Renewal talks between his camp and the club have been unproductive, with Real's offer of €20m (£17.1m) per season rejected, along with a counter-offer from the player's side.
Three Options for Vinicius
According to The Athletic, Real Madrid have presented Vinicius with three options: join Arsenal this summer, leave as a free agent next summer, or sign a new contract. The player is hoping for clarity within the next week.
Arsenal are positioned to take advantage of the situation. The forward is thought to be open to a move, and Arteta is keen to add him to his squad. Vinicius is considered one of the few players in world football who could improve the Premier League champions' team.
That is not the only path, though. Vinicius has previously been reported to lean towards extending his contract at Real rather than moving to England. He is due at Valdebebas for pre-season training in the coming days, but could stay away from the training ground while his future remains uncertain.
Jose Mourinho does not want the player to leave.

The exact cost of signing Vinicius is not clear. However, the considerable commercial opportunities the move would generate could offset the transfer fee and his hefty wage package.
