Motherwell have turned down an initial £2.5 million bid from Serie A club Udinese for midfielder Lennon Miller, but the Italian side are expected to return with an improved offer. The 18-year-old Scotland under-21 international recently signed a new contract keeping him at Fir Park until summer 2026, and the club are under no pressure to sell.
Udinese, owned by the Pozzo family who also control Watford, are keen to secure Miller's signature. However, Motherwell are holding out for a significantly higher fee, with several other clubs monitoring the talented teenager. Celtic and Southampton are among those keeping a close eye on his progress.
Miller is currently sidelined with a fractured foot and is expected to be out for another two months. Despite the injury, his potential has attracted interest from multiple clubs, and Udinese are determined to pursue a deal. The Pozzo family have a history of signing Scottish players, having brought Ryan Porteous and Rocco Vata to Watford in recent seasons.
Motherwell are in a strong negotiating position, with Miller's contract running until 2026. The club are likely to demand a substantial increase on the initial bid before considering any sale.
