Tyson Fury's Frugal Flight Choice After Multi-Million Pound Payday

Tyson Fury has raised eyebrows by choosing a budget commercial flight with his wife and seven children, despite pocketing nearly £19 million from his recent boxing comeback. The heavyweight champion was photographed boarding a LoganAir service from London City Airport to his Isle of Man home, following his unanimous decision victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov.

A Substantial Windfall and a Surprising Choice

Fury, 37, stepped back into the ring for the first time since 2024, with Netflix securing the streaming rights for the bout. The former world champion walked away with the best part of £19 million, though a considerable portion is expected to be swallowed up by tax obligations. Such a substantial windfall might have tempted many to splash out on luxury travel, such as a private jet.

However, Fury opted for a more economical approach. Tickets for the LoganAir route can cost as little as £40, and even pricier commercial options remain far more affordable than private air travel. This frugal move comes after Fury reportedly spent around £8 million on a new property in the Isle of Man, a tax haven, where he relocated in late 2025.

Relocation to the Isle of Man

The Manchester fighter, known as The Gypsy King, had previously resided in Morecambe, Lancashire, before making the move. Fury chose to up sticks following a frightening incident involving an intruder and weighed up several alternatives before settling on their current home near the island's capital of Douglas.

"I looked at moving abroad, but it turned out that the Isle of Man is the perfect place for me," Fury explained. "It's English-speaking, has English pound notes, and I can get an English newspaper from the local petrol station with my coffee and speak my own lingo."

Post-Fight Call-Out and Anthony Joshua's Response

While the Makhmudov bout marked Fury's first outing since 2024, he wasted no time in calling out rival Anthony Joshua following his unanimous decision triumph. "I want to give you the fight you've all been waiting for," Fury declared. "I want you, AJ, Anthony Joshua. Let's give the fight fans what they want - the Battle of Britain. I challenge you Anthony Joshua to fight me the Gypsy King next. Do you accept my challenge?"

Joshua was quick to hit back, however, dismissing Fury's challenge. "Tyson, you are a clout-chaser. I've never had no problem getting in a ring with you, I punched you up as kids, watching you tonight I'll punch you up again," he retorted. "You won't tell me what to do. I've been chasing you the last 10 years, when you're ready you come and see me. I'm the boss, you work for me. I'm the landlord. You work for me. When you're ready you come and see me and tell me your terms and conditions. I'm the boss, you work for me. I'm the landlord remember that, you work for me."

Fury's combination of a multi-million pound payday and a budget flight choice highlights a contrast in his financial decisions, sparking discussion among fans and observers about his spending habits and future plans in the boxing world.
