Tottenham cruise past Charlton in Carabao Cup third round

Tottenham Hotspur advanced to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup with a comfortable 4-0 victory over Charlton Athletic at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Dominant first-half display

Son Heung-min opened the scoring in the 12th minute, finishing from close range after a low cross from Dejan Kulusevski. Richarlison doubled the lead 20 minutes later, heading in a corner from James Maddison.

Kulusevski added a third just before half-time, cutting inside from the right flank and curling a left-footed shot into the far corner.

Kulusevski seals the win

Kulusevski completed his brace early in the second half, tapping in after a defensive error from Charlton goalkeeper Will Mannion. The visitors rarely threatened, with Tottenham controlling possession throughout.

Charlton's best chance came in the 68th minute when substitute Miles Leaburn forced a save from Fraser Forster, but the League One side could not find a consolation goal.

Next round awaits

Tottenham will discover their fourth-round opponents in the draw later this week. Charlton exit the competition after a spirited but ultimately one-sided contest.
