Carlos Tevez has named Paul Scholes as the best player he ever played with, placing the former Manchester United midfielder above Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. The Argentine, who spent two years at Old Trafford and won the Premier League and Champions League double in 2008, made the revelation on the Rio Ferdinand Presents channel.
Tevez's choice
When asked by Ferdinand to choose between Scholes and David Silva, Tevez immediately picked his former Red Devils team-mate. Even when reminded of his time playing alongside Ronaldo and Messi, the 42-year-old reiterated: "For me, it's Scholes."
Tevez praised Scholes' passing ability, telling Ferdinand: "Do you remember at training. Like this, No speak, nothing. First ball."
Move to Manchester City
Tevez also opened up about his controversial move to Manchester City in 2009, revealing that Sir Alex Ferguson played a major role in his decision. He explained that Ferguson had promised to pay out his contract and keep him at United, but the deal did not materialise as expected.
"For me it was... It was hard Rio. It was hard because I felt like I'd given my heart to United. And I didn't feel the same," Tevez said. He added that Ferguson had "from the day we talked in Los Angeles up to six months to keep his word. And he didn't."
