Teenage substitute Charalampos Kostoulas scored a sensational bicycle kick in added time to earn Brighton a 1-1 draw against Bournemouth in a controversial Premier League clash at the Amex Stadium.
The 18-year-old Greece international acrobatically dispatched Jan Paul van Hecke's knock-down into the left corner a minute into stoppage time for only his second goal in English football, cancelling out Marcus Tavernier's hotly-disputed 32nd-minute penalty.
Bournemouth had taken the lead after referee Paul Tierney initially booked Amine Adli for diving but, following VAR review, awarded a spot-kick for a foul by Bart Verbruggen. Tavernier confidently fired the penalty into the bottom left corner, sparking anger among home fans who chanted 'you're not fit to referee' at half-time.
Brighton pushed for an equaliser in the second half, with Yankuba Minteh forcing a save from Djordje Petrovic and Van Hecke missing the target, before the late drama unfolded. Kostoulas, on for Danny Welbeck in the 77th minute, chested Olivier Boscagli's cross before completing his spectacular finish.
The draw leaves Bournemouth three points behind 12th-placed Brighton in the Premier League table.
