The son of former England footballer Stuart Pearce has died in a tractor accident in the Cotswolds. Harley Pearce, 21, was killed on 16 October when his tractor was involved in a collision on the A417 at Old Birdlip Hill in Witcombe, Gloucestershire.
Police confirmed that Mr Pearce, who lived in Marlborough, Wiltshire, died at the scene. He worked in farming and was the younger of Stuart Pearce's two children. Stuart Pearce, who earned 78 caps for England and later served as caretaker manager, has been left 'truly shocked and utterly heartbroken' by the loss.
In a statement issued by Gloucestershire Constabulary, the family described Harley as a 'cherished son and devoted brother' with an 'infectious smile' and a 'wonderful work ethic'. They said: 'He will always be our shining star. Rest in peace, our beautiful son and brother. You will never ever be forgotten.'
Tributes have been paid by Stuart Pearce's former clubs. Nottingham Forest wrote on X: 'We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Harley Pearce.' West Ham United and Manchester City also expressed condolences. Police are appealing for witnesses or dashcam footage of the collision.
