Spurs player ratings: Porro lucky to avoid red at Leeds

Noah Okafor came off the bench to end Tottenham's winning run and secure a 1-0 win for Leeds in the early kick-off at Elland Road.

A feisty encounter looked to be heading for a stalemate before Okafor collected a loose ball inside the area and fired home to break the deadlock for Leeds in the 79th minute.

Defensive Contributions and a Lucky Escape

Antonin Kinsky earned a 7 rating, with his long passes allowing Spurs to break Leeds' press and helping them weather an early wave of pressure from the hosts. He also produced a wonderful save to deny Longstaff late on.

Pedro Porro, rated 5, tried to get things ticking in the final third, routinely getting into good crossing positions, but his deliveries were inconsistent. He was lucky not to see red when committing a foul on Nmecha.

Midfield Battle and Attacking Struggles

Jan Paul van Hecke, also rated 5, produced an excellent block to deflect Nmecha's shot, but had to be stronger as he lost out to Calvert-Lewin in the build-up to Leeds' opener. He almost got Spurs level with a late header.

Micky van de Ven earned a 7 for his work, doing well to divert Bogle's dangerous second-half cross over the crossbar and being first to almost every ball that entered the Spurs box. Andy Robertson was rated 6 after dealing well with the dangerous Bogle, though he struggled to get forward as much as he would have liked.

Archie Gray, given a rare start in midfield on his return to Elland Road, made his presence felt in an increasingly fiery contest and reverted to right-back after Porro came off midway through the second half. Sandro Tonali competed well in the first half, but Leeds increasingly began to dictate things in the middle of the park after the break, and De Zerbi turned to his bench to support him.

Substitutes and Late Chances

Mateus Fernandes settled into the game after surviving an early penalty scare, with his sharp feet earning Longstaff a booking and his passing crisp and direct. He was replaced just past the hour mark. Mohammed Kudus was rated 3, as Spurs needed more from him, completing just two of his seven dribbles.

Mathys Tel was replaced shortly before half-time after Bogle landed on the back of his left Achilles, having begun to grow into the game with his direct running. Omar Marmoush struggled to assert himself and had to pass to Kudus when presented with the ball inside the area.

Among the substitutes, Dominic Solanke made an important block to deny Calvert-Lewin from a second-half corner but was ineffectual up top. Dejan Kulusevski was given an extended run out but struggled to influence the game. Rodrigo Bentancur was rated 4, as Wilson got the better of him to flick the ball into the path of Okafor, and he was saved by the offside flag when presented with a glorious chance to level. Conor Gallagher never really got going, despite the away section thinking he had given Spurs the lead with a drive that whistled just wide of Trafford's right-hand post. Luca Williams-Barnett earned more minutes for the youngster.
