Tottenham ended their pre-season tour of Asia with a 1-1 draw against Newcastle in Seoul. Heung-min Son made his final appearance for the club, though the occasion was overshadowed by an injury to James Maddison, who was stretchered off in the 85th minute.
Tottenham took an early lead through Brennan Johnson's deflected effort from outside the area. However, Newcastle levelled when Harvey Barnes rifled a shot in off the post. The second half saw numerous changes but no winner, leaving the match to fizzle out after Maddison's injury.
Kevin Danso stood out defensively, winning possession that led to the opening goal, while Johnson sent a reminder of his abilities with his goal. But Maddison's injury marred the finale, and Tottenham lacked a cutting edge without Dominic Solanke. Newcastle controlled midfield after a bright Spurs start.
Tottenham remain unbeaten under Thomas Frank and conclude their pre-season with a trip to face Bayern Munich in Germany.
