Solskjaer's Inner Circle Revealed Ahead of Man Utd Return

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the frontrunner to return as Manchester United manager following the sacking of Ruben Amorim last week. The Norwegian, who previously managed the club from 2018 to 2021, would have a strong support network if he takes the job again.

Solskjaer's wife Silje, a former professional footballer, has been his partner since 1992. The couple met at a training session in Norway and married in 2004. Solskjaer has credited her support during his first spell, particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic when his family moved back to Norway. Their three children – Noah, Karna and Elijah – all play football.

Michael Carrick, who was Solskjaer's assistant at United, is also linked with a return. Carrick described his role as supporting the manager with session planning and match preparation. The former midfielder's experience could be valuable again.

Sir Alex Ferguson, who brought Solskjaer to United as a player, remains an influential figure. Ferguson praised Solskjaer's ability to integrate young players, a key trait during his own tenure. Mike Phelan, Solskjaer's former assistant, could also return after leaving Plymouth Argyle.
