Fulham manager Marco Silva has insisted he has not yet decided on his future following his side's 1-1 draw at already-relegated Wolves, a result that effectively ends their hopes of European qualification for next season.
Match Summary
The visitors equalised through Antonee Robinson's first-half stoppage-time penalty, awarded after a VAR review deemed Mateus Mane's challenge on Timothy Castagne worthy of a spot-kick. Wolves had taken the lead earlier through Mane as they sought their first victory since beating Liverpool on March 3.
Silva, whose contract expires at the end of the season, has been linked with several Premier League clubs as well as Benfica. The 48-year-old Portuguese remained tight-lipped about his plans.
Silva's Comments
"I will not say something if the decision is not made," Silva stated. "What can I communicate to the people if I haven't decided? I said I'm going to meet with the board, we are going to analyse, we are going to say some important things which will be crucial to the club's future in the way I want the club to move. And after that, the decision is going to be made."
He added: "All the other decisions are going to come, we are going to have some meetings. It is a moment for the club to address many things, it's one of the most important summers in this football club."
European Hopes Dashed
Fulham sit three points behind eighth-placed Brentford with one game remaining and an inferior goal difference, meaning their chances of securing European football are all but over. Silva expressed disappointment at losing ground in the continental race.
"It was a must-win game for us to keep some hopes to fight for European places," he said. "Second half was not good enough, simple as that. We did not create many clear chances. The future of the club, I completely understand. But I was focused on what I wanted to give to the fans at the end of the season, it's not going to be possible."
Wolves' Relegation Woes
Wolves' next competitive league game at Molineux will be in the Championship, and some fans expressed their discontent by booing boss Rob Edwards during his lap of appreciation. Edwards acknowledged the reaction was expected and pointed to significant changes ahead in the summer.
"I thought the response was expected, a few boos at first but then a lot of people showed their understanding the longer I stood there," Edwards said. "There is a lot of frustration and anger around. It's down to us to prove to them that we are heading in the right direction."
He added: "The situation is horrible, the season as a whole. If you look at our results since Christmas at home – it's not horrendous, in challenging circumstances, but it's away that's been a problem. There are changes needed. I came in and we had a bit of pre-season in the middle of the season, bottom line is we have not been good enough."
