Manchester United legend Teddy Sheringham has launched a scathing attack on Marcus Rashford, branding the England star's recent behaviour as "soul-destroying" and suggesting he doesn't deserve a dream move to Barcelona.
Sheringham's Blunt Assessment
The former Red Devils striker didn't hold back in his criticism of the 26-year-old forward, whose form and attitude have come under scrutiny following a disappointing season at Old Trafford.
What's Wrong with Rashford?
Sheringham highlighted several concerns about Rashford's current mindset:
- Lack of consistency in performances
- Questionable body language on pitch
- Failure to lead by example
"When you see a player with Rashford's talent not applying himself properly, it's heartbreaking for fans," Sheringham told reporters. "His attitude at times has been soul-destroying to watch."
Barcelona Links Questioned
The criticism comes amid speculation linking Rashford with a shock move to Spanish giants Barcelona. Sheringham believes the England international hasn't done enough to warrant such a prestigious transfer.
"Top clubs like Barcelona demand complete dedication," Sheringham added. "Right now, I don't see that from Marcus. He needs to rediscover his hunger if he wants to play at that level."
What Next for Rashford?
The Manchester-born forward faces a crucial season ahead, with new United manager Erik ten Hag reportedly demanding more from his star player. Sheringham's comments will only increase the pressure on Rashford to deliver.
