Everton's Hill Dickinson Stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock will host its first senior men's international football fixture on Tuesday, 31 March, when Scotland take on Ivory Coast in a World Cup warm-up match. The 52,769-capacity waterfront venue will welcome two nations who have qualified for this summer's FIFA World Cup.
Ivory Coast, three-time Africa Cup of Nations winners, return to the World Cup for the first time in 12 years after an unbeaten qualifying campaign. Scotland ended a 28-year wait for a World Cup finals appearance with a thrilling victory over Denmark. The fixture is part of Pitch International's 'Road to 26' series.
Familiar names expected to feature include Everton's Nathan Patterson, Napoli's Scott McTominay and Aston Villa's John McGinn for Scotland, while Ivory Coast boast Evann Guessand, Amad Diallo and Wilfried Zaha. Tickets are priced from £27 for adults and £16 for under-16s, with priority access for Scotland Supporters' Club members, Everton season ticket members, premium members and Forever Blue+ members.
Everton CEO Angus Kinnear called the match an important milestone for the stadium, which opened in August 2025. Scotland head coach Steve Clarke said facing African opposition before the World Cup would provide a stern test, while Ivory Coast boss Emerse Faé expressed excitement at playing in front of passionate Scottish fans. The stadium previously hosted a sold-out Rugby League Ashes fixture and will also stage Rugby League's Magic Weekend in July and matches during UEFA EURO 2028.
