Dominik Szoboszlai has revealed that Mohamed Salah intends to remain at Liverpool, despite ongoing speculation linking the Egyptian with a move to the Saudi Pro League. The Hungarian midfielder, who joined the Reds for £60 million this summer, made the statement following Liverpool's 3-0 victory over Aston Villa.
Speaking after the match, Szoboszlai said: "We speak between each other. He wants to stay here, he wants to be here, he wants to stay with us. At the end, he stayed and that’s great news. He’s a top player." The comments come as the Saudi Arabian transfer window remains open until September 7, leaving room for further bids.
Liverpool reportedly rejected a £150 million offer from Al Ittihad for Salah last Friday. Manager Jurgen Klopp dismissed the speculation as "a media story that never came through." Salah, who has spent six years at Anfield, recently surpassed Steven Gerrard to become the club's fifth-highest all-time goalscorer.
Szoboszlai, meanwhile, has made an impressive start to his Liverpool career, scoring a stunning goal against Villa and establishing himself as a key figure in the first team. The duo's bond appears to have strengthened since the Hungarian's arrival.
