Cristiano Ronaldo Lashes Out at Referee During Al-Nassr Victory

Cristiano Ronaldo vented his fury at referee Abdullah Al Shehri during Al-Nassr's 3-1 victory over Neom in the Saudi Pro League on Saturday. The 40-year-old forward sarcastically criticised the official as the players left the pitch at half-time, saying: 'Well done, well done. Keep going like that, you're doing a good game - very good game you do.'

Al-Nassr broke the deadlock within two minutes of the restart through Angelo Gabriel. Neom were then reduced to ten men after Luciano Rodriguez was sent off for violent conduct following a VAR review. Al-Nassr were awarded a penalty when Joao Felix was fouled, allowing Ronaldo to score his 953rd career goal.

Felix added a third before Neom grabbed a late consolation, but Al-Nassr secured a comfortable 3-1 win away from home. The result was their third consecutive victory and 14th of the season from 16 games, keeping them three points clear at the top of the table.

Ronaldo, who joined Al-Nassr in December 2022, is yet to win a major trophy at club level since leaving Manchester United. He recently claimed that scoring in the Saudi league is harder than in Spain's La Liga, stating: 'If I played in the Premier League now, in a top team, I would score the same.'
