Wrexham FC owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have donated £10,000 to a charity fundraising page set up by player Jordan Davies and his partner Kelsey Edwards following the stillbirth of their son.
The donation was made to a GoFundMe page for Sands (Stillbirth & Neonatal Death Society), which the bereaved couple said they are 'forever grateful' to for the support they received after their baby was 'born sleeping' on 14 December 2021.
A message accompanying the donation read: 'Sending love to you all' and was signed 'Rob, Kaitlin, Ryan and Blake For Arthur' – referring to the actors and their spouses, Kaitlin Olson and Blake Lively. A GoFundMe representative confirmed the donation came from the Hollywood owners.
On the fundraising page, Davies and Edwards wrote about the care they received at Wrexham Maelor Hospital and thanked the midwives for providing a memory box with 'things to cherish forever'.
Reynolds and McElhenney took full control of the National League club from the Wrexham Supporters Trust in February 2021 and invested £2 million in the club.
