The cast of the BBC's Death in Paradise spin-off, Return to Paradise, is currently filming for series 3, and star Tai Hara has officially confirmed his return following his character's devastating departure in the series 2 finale.
Glenn's Heartbreaking Exit
The second series of Return to Paradise concluded on a sorrowful note as Glenn (Tai Hara) and Daisy (Andrea Demetriades) failed to tie the knot. A murder disrupted their nuptials, prompting Mackenzie Clarke (Anna Samson) and Colin Cartwright (Lloyd Griffith) to investigate the case so the couple could proceed with their vows. However, Daisy ultimately admitted she could not marry Glenn, recognising that he still harboured feelings for Mack. Devastated, Glenn decided to leave Dolphin Cove, telling Mack he was uncertain when—or if—he would return.
During their poignant farewell, Mack asked, "Did I ruin your wedding? I won't come the next time you do it." Glenn clarified, "We won't be redoing it," as he loaded his vehicle. He added, "I am the reason everything falls apart—two weddings so far, and what do they have in common? Something is not right, and I am not going to figure out what it is by living the same life in the same place." When Mack asked how long he would be gone, Glenn replied, "A while, Mackenzie. A long while."
Tai Hara's Confirmed Return
Despite the emotional exit, Glenn's absence from Dolphin Cove proved brief. Tai Hara verified his return for the third series by sharing several behind-the-scenes photographs from the second run on Instagram. Alongside the images, he wrote, "Halfway through filming S3. Here's some BTS from S2." Fans were delighted and flocked to the comments to express their enthusiasm. One fan commented, "So so excited for season 3!! I can't wait!! Such beautiful memories." Another viewer remarked, "Best job ever? Looks like it! Break a leg for S3." A third chimed in, "Can't wait!! I miss Mackenzie and Glenn." Another fan continued, "I cannot wait! Love the show."
Return to Paradise is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
