Rat Panics NRL Fans at CommBank Stadium During Tigers vs Bulldogs Match
Rat Panics NRL Fans at CommBank Stadium

NRL fans were sent into a panic on Saturday night when a rat was filmed running through a grandstand at CommBank Stadium during the Wests Tigers' victory over the Bulldogs in Sydney's west.

Footage uploaded to TikTok shows supporters quickly abandoning their spots as the rodent scurried around, with some leaping up and pointing. The video has amassed 42,000 views. While many fled, three fans in the foreground stayed put, though one lifted his feet onto his seat.

Viewers joked in the comments, with several comparing the rat to Bulldogs halfback Lachlan Galvin, who was at the centre of a major scandal in 2025 when he left the Tigers to sign with the Bulldogs in May. The 20-year-old faced constant booing from his former Tigers fans during the match, but Bulldogs coach Cameron Ciraldo insisted Galvin was unfazed.

Nearly a year after Galvin's acrimonious exit, the pain for Tigers fans remains evident. Galvin copped the loudest jeers from the crowd of 17,505 when Jarome Luai sidestepped and belted him. 'I don't know if he notices, but it's what's going to make him a very good player down the track,' Ciraldo said. 'He deals with people talking about him all the time, people booing him. I get it, it's footy, but he'll be a better player for it.'

Galvin and his teammates struggled as the Tigers snapped their losing streak, consigning the Bulldogs to another defeat. Ciraldo added, 'Everything's tribal, we love our clubs, we love our teams, we love our players, and that stuff comes out – it'll die off eventually.'
