Manchester United are growing increasingly frustrated with Barcelona's approach to signing Marcus Rashford, with the forward's future now threatening to drag on beyond the World Cup. Rashford remains under contract at Old Trafford until 2028 on £325,000-a-week and has no interest in returning, while co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is keen to remove his wages from the books. The club had banked on the Barcelona sale to fund new manager Michael Carrick's summer budget.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle, and Tottenham are monitoring the situation, but United are reluctant to sell to a domestic rival, and Rashford is not interested in Newcastle or Tottenham. Meanwhile, Rashford has been training alone at Inter Miami ahead of England's pre-World Cup camp in Florida.
The forward impressed during his debut Barcelona campaign with 14 goals and 14 assists, and manager Hansi Flick wants to keep him. But Gordon's arrival has complicated matters, leaving Rashford's status uncertain. England's World Cup campaign begins against Croatia on June 17.
