Marcus Rashford's long-term future at Barcelona has been cast into doubt, with the Manchester United loanee facing an uncertain summer. The 28-year-old has impressed during his spell at the Camp Nou, scoring seven goals and providing 11 assists in 24 appearances, but his permanent move is not yet guaranteed.
According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, Rashford is one of three Barcelona players whose contracts expire in the summer, alongside Robert Lewandowski and Andreas Christensen. While the England international has received positive feedback from the Catalan club, it is not a foregone conclusion that United will trigger his £26 million buy clause.
Barcelona are reportedly hoping to negotiate a lower fee due to their well-documented financial constraints. Rashford has also been advised to improve his pressing and defensive contributions to secure a permanent stay.
Meanwhile, Manchester United have recalled midfielder Toby Collyer from his loan spell at West Bromwich Albion. The 21-year-old made 12 Championship appearances before suffering an injury in November, prompting his early return. United confirmed the academy graduate will focus on his fitness at Old Trafford, potentially adding to Ruben Amorim's options.
Amorim recently commented on Collyer's development, suggesting that some young players are promoted to the first team too early. 'He played for Manchester United. So sometimes it's not because he's from the academy or whatever. It's the situation, what's happened,' the Portuguese coach said in December.
