Baba Vanga's 2025 Alien Prophecy Tied to Africa Cup of Nations or New Year's Eve

A blind Bulgarian mystic, Baba Vanga, who died in 1996 and is credited with predicting 9/11 and the Covid-19 pandemic, may see another prophecy come true within days. Her 2025 prediction that humans would make contact with alien life has been linked to a major televised event, with the Africa Cup of Nations and New Year's Eve broadcasts as the remaining possibilities.

Baba Vanga's vision described a UFO appearing like 'a new light in the sky' over an unnamed event, allowing humanity to meet extraterrestrials for the first time. While some interpreted this as a sporting event, there is no evidence she specifically mentioned sports. The Africa Cup of Nations runs until January 18, 2026, and is viewed by around two billion people globally, while New Year's Eve broadcasts reach millions worldwide.

A previous opportunity for the prophecy to be fulfilled was the FIFA World Cup draw on December 5, watched by billions, but no alien contact occurred. Some social media users claim the prophecy has already been realised with the passage of interstellar object 3I/ATLAS, which made its closest approach to Earth on December 19. However, NASA and astronomers have identified it as a lifeless comet, though some still believe it could be an extraterrestrial spacecraft.

Other interpretations suggest the 'new light' could refer to a meteor shower, the Northern Lights, or the expected supernova of T Coronae Borealis. Baba Vanga's followers have also noted her track record of accurate predictions, including the Kursk submarine disaster, the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, Barack Obama's election, and the rise of ISIS. However, she has had misses, such as a predicted nuclear war that did not occur.
