Mauricio Pochettino has expressed his longing for English football as speculation continues over a potential return to Tottenham Hotspur. The United States head coach, currently preparing for a home World Cup, spent over five years at Spurs, guiding them to Premier League title challenges and the 2019 Champions League final.
Pochettino, who later managed Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea, confirmed that Tottenham had attempted to re-hire him in the summer of 2021, but PSG blocked his exit. He told L'Equipe that other top clubs also approached him during that period, but PSG chose not to listen to any offers.
With Tottenham facing relegation danger this season, links to Pochettino have resurfaced, though no recent approach is understood to have been made. The Argentine described the Premier League as the 'ideal place' for competitive managers, adding that he misses England's football culture and the constant demand to perform at the highest level.
