Arsenal fan Piers Morgan has promised to celebrate a potential Champions League victory in a full Gunners kit, emulating former Chelsea captain John Terry. The broadcaster made the pledge ahead of Saturday's final against Paris Saint-Germain in Budapest.
Morgan, who was spotted celebrating with players after Arsenal's Premier League title win at Selhurst Park, told talkSPORT: 'If we win the Champions League tomorrow night, I am bringing a full Arsenal kit to Budapest and if we win the Champions League, I’m pulling a full John Terry everybody.'
John Terry famously lifted the Champions League trophy for Chelsea in 2012 in full kit despite being suspended for the match. Morgan defended his presence at Arsenal's title celebrations, saying he had bought four tickets in March and was invited to the chairman's lounge and pitchside.
Responding to criticism on social media, Morgan said: 'Maybe because I had the foresight to buy 4 tickets at the start of March when I had a feeling it might be a momentous day for the club I’ve supported for 55 years.' He also praised manager Mikel Arteta, admitting the Spaniard 'proved me and a lot of people wrong'.
Arsenal head into the final as Premier League champions but have never won Europe's premier competition. PSG, meanwhile, aim to claim the trophy in back-to-back seasons.
