Jordan Pickford and Megan Davison made their marriage official at a Cheshire registry office in 2020 after the COVID-19 pandemic destroyed their original plans for a Maldives ceremony. The couple, who have been together since childhood, decided not to wait for normalcy to return and opted for a low-key legal ceremony instead.
While Megan looked elegant in a blouse and white fur while holding their son Arlo, the Premier League star attracted significant attention for his choice of attire. Pickford wore a Givenchy tracksuit top, ripped blue jeans and a black baseball cap for the occasion, creating a viral moment when photos emerged of the couple kissing outside the registry office.
Engagement Ring Calamity
Before their wedding plans faced disruption, the couple experienced significant engagement ring drama. Megan's diamond ring, which reportedly cost Pickford £500,000, became stuck on her finger during her pregnancy with their son Arlo due to water retention.
She took to Instagram seeking solutions, revealing she had tried multiple methods including washing up liquid, butter and ice to remove the valuable ring. Unfortunately, these efforts proved unsuccessful, and just two hours later she announced they had visited jewellers to have the ring cut off her swollen finger.
Dream Maldives Wedding
Despite these challenges, the couple eventually realised their wedding dreams with a picture-perfect ceremony in the Maldives in June 2022. Arranged by wedding planners Ikebana Maldives, the celebration featured thirteen guests on a beautiful beach setting in south Asia.
This time, Pickford dressed appropriately in a dapper white tuxedo with smart white trousers, replacing his previous casual ensemble. Megan wore an elegant white off-the-shoulder gown by Berta fashion house with floral lace detailing, completing the romantic scene as they exchanged vows surrounded by pink roses.
The emotional ceremony included touching moments with their son Arlo, with photos showing the new parents cradling and kissing their child during the celebrations. Pickford even removed his brown loafers to walk barefoot with his bride on the golden sand after making their vows.
