Pennsylvania School Bus Crash Injures Junior Football Team

A school bus carrying a junior high football team to a game crashed in Pennsylvania on Saturday, sending 21 of the 28 people on board to hospital. The bus, which was transporting 25 students and three adults from Aliquippa junior high school, overturned on a bend in Economy Borough, about 20 miles north of Pittsburgh.

Police Chief Michael O’Brien of Economy Borough confirmed that the bus turned onto its side during the crash but righted itself as the students evacuated. He described the location as 'a bad bend' and noted that an investigation is under way to determine the cause of the accident.

O’Brien said he did not have information on the medical status of those taken to hospital. A Facebook page for the Aliquippa junior high football team requested prayers for each player and coach who was travelling, adding that every player was being evaluated.
