Norgaard debut looms as Everton sweat on Mykolenko for Chelsea

Christian Norgaard could make his Everton debut against Chelsea on Saturday, while Vitalii Mykolenko's fitness remains a major concern after he missed the draw at Hull City.

David Moyes faces several selection dilemmas for the 12:30pm kick-off at Hill Dickinson Stadium, with the Blues looking to bounce back after a 2-2 draw at Hull.

Mykolenko fitness boost?

Vitalii Mykolenko, Everton's only recognised left-back, had been an ever-present until the Hull trip but was forced out of Ukraine's last three internationals and missed the MKM Stadium match.

If the 27-year-old returns, Jarrad Branthwaite could move back to centre-back alongside James Tarkowski, with Michael Keane dropping out. Ainsley Maitland-Niles, the only natural right-back, could also be under threat despite providing the cross for Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's equaliser.

Norgaard in line for debut

Moyes may hand Christian Norgaard his debut in the number six role. The former Denmark international, signed from Arsenal, was an unused substitute at Hull and could replace Harrison Armstrong or James Garner.

Hayden Hackney, who was taunted by Hull fans with chants of "We saw you crying down Wembley Way", also provides an alternative in midfield.

Wide options considered

Thierno Barry's place looks secure as the only striker, and Dewsbury-Hall is likely to keep his attacking midfield spot after scoring and assisting at Hull.

Out wide, Jack Grealish and Brennan Johnson were quiet at Hull, so Tyrique George and Tyler Dibling could push for starts.
