Tuesday’s racing action sees Catterick and Southwell take centre stage, with Newsboy tipping Enya as the nap of the day in the Flat Season Next Fillies' 'Junior' NH Flat Race at Catterick (4.40). The four-year-old, trained by Jamie Snowden, is expected to improve significantly after a wind operation following her debut over hurdles at Warwick last November.
Enya finished second on that occasion despite running green and making several jumping errors, including a bunny hop three out. The winner of that race, La Luna Artista, has since franked the form by finishing close behind Triumph Hurdle contender Maestro Conti and winning at Kempton. With no hurdles to worry about and Gavin Sheehan in the saddle, Enya is fancied to go one better.
At Southwell, SPRING IS SPRUNG (4.02) is the next best selection in the Midnite A Next Generation Betting App Handicap over five furlongs. Paul Midgley’s gelding won readily over course and distance last time, beating Fidelius by three-quarters of a length. He now has the added assistance of jockey Oisin Murphy and can follow up that victory.
