Amazing Journey (6.22, NAP) can further enhance his reputation as a specialist 6f performer at Epsom this evening, according to Newsboy's racing tips.
Amazing Journey Seeks Fourth Win Over 6f
The Jamie Osborne-trained gelding opened his account for the year with a convincing victory over the trip on the all-weather at Kempton. That win improved his record over 6f to three wins from five starts.
The son of Starspangledbanner recorded victories at Chepstow and York last season but spent the rest of his two-year-old campaign running over 7f, without finding the frame. He was gelded at the end of the season and, after a solid third at Leicester first time out, scored by two and a half lengths from Front Line Fury.
Amazing Journey has been raised 6lb for that effort but can show he is still on the upgrade as he takes on older horses for the first time.
York Tower the Next Best at Thirsk
In the afternoon at Thirsk, York Tower (3.40, NB) has a chance to open his career account in the 1m4f handicap. The William Haggas-trained gelding showed promise over 7f last year, finishing third over 1m at Lingfield and fourth of nine in a 1m2f handicap at Epsom during the Derby meeting on soft ground, shaping as if he would handle another step up in distance.
