Newcastle boost as Fernandez-Pardo and Miley near return

Newcastle United head coach Matthias Jaissle expects to have Mathias Fernandez-Pardo and Lewis Miley available for Saturday's Premier League match at Fulham, but will travel to Craven Cottage without the suspended Jacob Ramsey.

The £51m summer signing Fernandez-Pardo is set to make the squad for the trip to West London after illness kept him out in recent weeks. Lewis Miley, who has missed the last three games with a glutes issue, should also be ready to resume action.

Fernandez-Pardo and Miley set for return

Fernandez-Pardo has yet to show his full potential in a Newcastle shirt. While he struggled as a central striker, he looked promising in a wider role against Aston Villa. He returned to training last weekend but was not ready for the Everton match; he is now expected to join the travelling party for Fulham.

Miley had played full-back during Amar Dedic's injury, but now faces competition for a midfield place from Joelinton, Nico Gonzalez and Sean Steur.

Livramento closing in on recovery

Tino Livramento is also nearing a full recovery following his latest injury setback. Jaissle said the club were being cautious with the England defender to avoid further problems. He could be in contention for Fulham, though a return against Arsenal after the international break is seen as more likely.

Jacob Ramsey will serve a one-match ban after being sent off for two yellow cards with virtually the last kick of the game against Everton. He will return to the squad for the Arsenal match on November 21.

Jaouen ruled out until December

Goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen remains a long-term absentee after picking up a hamstring injury while on international duty with France U21s. Jaissle confirmed Jaouen will spend several months on the sidelines, with a mid-December return pencilled in at this stage.
