Michael Carrick will remain as Manchester United manager for this weekend's Premier League trip to Chelsea.
Carrick had been expected to be sacked after a 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth on Sunday extended a dismal run to eight games without a win.
Talks Decide Carrick's Future
After high-level talks involving chief executive Omar Berrada, director of football Jason Wilcox and co-owners the Glazer family and Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the decision has been made that Carrick will stay on as head coach.
United insist the 45-year-old will be given the chance to turn the current situation around, although notably the players are also included in that.
Pressure Mounts After Poor Run
That could be seen as an admission that Carrick isn't the only person to blame for a crisis that sees United winless in eight and with only two wins in 12 games all season. They were beaten 4-1 by Como in the Champions League last week.
Carrick took training as normal on Tuesday morning, having arrived at Carrington at 7.30am, which is his usual arrival time.
Training Ground Activity
He attended the training ground at 1.50pm on Monday to watch the Under-21s play Hull City in a behind-closed-doors game. He left at 5pm.
Wilcox and Berrada were at Carrington from 9am on Monday for talks over Carrick's future and have decided to keep faith at the moment, with the expectation of seeing a response on the pitch at Stamford Bridge.
Eddie Howe and Julian Nagelsmann are considered the front runners should United decide to make a change.
