Derek McInnes has admitted he should not have confronted referee Nick Walsh on the pitch after Rangers were held to a draw by Dundee United at Tannadice.
Lachlan Rose bundled the ball into the net to give United the lead with the first goal of the Premiership season, but Thelo Aasgaard produced a moment of magic to level for Rangers. Jim Goodwin's side then passed up a series of chances to claim all three points.
Diomande flashpoint
In the closing moments, Mohamed Diomande went down in the box under a challenge from Emmanuel Agyei, but Walsh awarded a goal kick rather than a corner or penalty. Rangers players swarmed the referee after the final whistle, with McInnes joining the row before speaking to the officials.
Speaking in his post-match press conference, McInnes said: "Yeah, that is what it is. I actually went in and spoke to the ref. I shouldn't have approached him on the pitch. But I did, aye.
"It was just the player’s reaction as well. I should have just approached him in the referee’s room after the game which I did do."
