PGA Championship: Rory McIlroy Skips Scheffler Dinner, Halts Practice
McIlroy Skips Scheffler Dinner, Halts PGA Practice

Rory McIlroy is bidding for a second successive major victory as he heads into the PGA Championship this weekend. The 37-year-old Northern Irishman, who secured the Masters title at Augusta last month, aims to win the PGA Championship for the first time in 12 years.

McIlroy Absent from Scheffler Dinner

Scottie Scheffler hosted his Champions Dinner on Tuesday night ahead of the tournament, but McIlroy was notably absent. The world number two had earlier halted his practice round after just three holes due to a painful issue. The reigning Masters champion has been managing the problem ahead of Thursday's opening round and was one of the few notable absences from the dinner, which featured 18 former PGA champions.

Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson were also missing as expected, having similarly been absent from McIlroy's Masters Champions dinner at Augusta, where McIlroy made his feelings clear about their non-attendance.
