Mbappe Seeks French Knee Specialist After Losing Trust in Real Madrid Medics

Kylian Mbappe has flown to France to address an ongoing knee problem after reportedly losing confidence in Real Madrid's medical staff. The 27-year-old sprained his knee in December and has been playing through discomfort, with the injury worsening in recent weeks.

According to French outlet L'Equipe, Mbappe 'doesn't trust' the Los Blancos medics because they 'haven't found the right treatment' for his injury. He is said to be unwilling to take further risks, particularly with the World Cup approaching and the 2025/26 season run-in critical for Real Madrid's title hopes.

Mbappe has missed Real's last three games and is racing to be fit for the Champions League clash with Manchester City. His decision to seek treatment in France has caused a diplomatic headache at the Bernabeu, as officials had hoped he would be available for both legs against City.

However, Real Madrid's medical staff may not bear full responsibility. Mbappe reportedly insisted on playing after the injury to break the club's calendar-year goal record, equalling Cristiano Ronaldo's tally of 59. Coaches also pushed for him to play, prioritising form over fitness.

Despite the injury, Mbappe has scored 23 goals in 23 league games and 38 in all competitions this season. In other news, he rejected Real Madrid's offer of a BMW i7 after passing his driving test, opting for a more modest iX3 instead.
