Swansea boss Vitor Matos dismisses Crystal Palace speculation
Matos: I love being at Swansea amid Palace links

Swansea City head coach Vitor Matos has reaffirmed his commitment to the club amid reported interest from Crystal Palace, insisting he is happy in his current role.

Reports have claimed Matos is one of several candidates on the radar at Selhurst Park, with uncertainty surrounding the position of current Palace boss Pierre Sage. The Frenchman is under pressure after a run of two wins in their opening seven games, and the Eagles were heavily beaten by rivals Brighton last weekend.

Matos responds to speculation

When quizzed on the links this week, Matos said: "I have nothing to say, I'm Swansea manager. I love being here. Love my players. Love the staff. So my focus is always on the next game and what we can do better to play against Queens Park Rangers."

Swansea's strong start to the season has made Matos a plausible target for other clubs, but he suggested he can fulfil his ambitions with the Swans, who travel to Loftus Road top of the Championship.

Ambition and focus

Asked if the rumours were a testament to his good work, Matos said: "I don't know, I don't see it in that way. More important is to really focus on what we can do now. I think it's like all the players now. As human beings we all have ambitions, players have ambitions. But when you have ambition it doesn't mean that you are always looking somewhere else. You look first inside and what you can do better where you are. That's how I will always be."

He added: "I want to work to get the most out of the challenge I have here and for that we need to prepare really well for QPR."
