Manchester Toddler Jude Owens Becomes Youngest Double Guinness World Record Holder
Manchester Toddler Breaks Two Guinness World Records

A remarkable Manchester toddler has etched his name into the history books by securing two prestigious Guinness World Records for his exceptional skill with a snooker cue.

Record-Breaking Achievements

Jude Owens, at just two years and 302 days old, successfully executed a precise pool bank shot on October 12, 2025. This incredible feat followed an earlier accomplishment where, at two years and 261 days, he completed a challenging snooker double pot. These achievements officially crown Jude as the youngest person ever to perform both of these complex trick shots.

A Natural Talent Emerges

Jude's father, Luke Owens, first noticed his son's extraordinary natural ability during casual play at home. "I think I realised once he put the cue through his fingers and it was dead natural the way he did it," Mr Owens recalled. Snooker quickly became the toddler's favourite hobby, demonstrating a focus and coordination far beyond his years.

Overcoming Practical Challenges

Given Jude's height relative to a standard snooker table, his family had to devise creative solutions. "At first it was really difficult," Mr Owens explained. "We used to have to use bar stools from anywhere that we went. But we ended up sourcing a stool which we mainly used for cooking at first, but then we utilised it into him using it for snooker shots."

Family Pride and Future Prospects

Reflecting on his son's achievements, Mr Owens expressed immense pride. "I think for me, Jude's achieved quite a lot in such a short space of time. But for him to achieve not just one, but two world records, it's probably the pinnacle moment. How do you even beat that in life?"

He added a humorous comparison of their respective skills: "I started playing when I was 10 and obviously Jude started playing when he was two. But I'd say Jude's got a lot more natural ability than myself." When asked who would win in a match between father and son, Jude confidently replied: "Me."

Beyond the Snooker Table

Jude's interests extend beyond the green baize. The Manchester toddler is a devoted Manchester United fan, described by his family as "obsessed" with midfielder Bruno Fernandes. He can also sing every word to the classic song Take Me Home, Country Roads, showing a well-rounded personality alongside his sporting talent.

Official Recognition

Craig Glenday, Editor-in-Chief of Guinness World Records, welcomed Jude into their prestigious community. "Record-breaking has always belonged to everyone – regardless of age," Glenday stated. "To see someone as young as Jude display such skill, enthusiasm and determination is incredibly special. We're thrilled to welcome him into the Guinness World Records family."

Jude's accomplishments place him among the youngest double record holders in the long history of Guinness World Records, marking an extraordinary start to what could be a remarkable sporting journey.
