Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund has been ruled out for two to three weeks with a muscle injury, the club confirmed on Friday. The £72 million summer signing had been in fine form, becoming the youngest player to score in six consecutive Premier League games after netting twice against Luton Town last weekend.
The injury is a significant blow to manager Erik ten Hag, whose side had been showing consistent form with five consecutive wins across all competitions. Hojlund will miss Saturday's Premier League match against Fulham, the FA Cup fifth-round tie at Nottingham Forest on Wednesday, and the derby at Manchester City on March 3.
His availability for home games against Everton and Sheffield United before the March international break is also in doubt. Ten Hag told reporters: 'It's a small injury, two or three weeks. It's the risk, playing high intensity. It's not a big injury but he has to wait for two or three weeks.'
