Manu Kone agrees personal terms
Roma midfielder Manu Kone has agreed personal terms to move to Old Trafford, according to the Mirror. Corriere dello Sport reports that the 25-year-old is eager to join the Premier League giants, with a fee still to be finalised. United are in discussions with Roma and intend to lodge a bid of approximately £42.7 million.
Real Madrid pulled out of the race after having their £34.1 million offer turned down. Saudi side Al-Ahli and Chelsea are also keen, and Kone’s price tag could rise to £51.2 million if a bidding war ensues. The 6ft 1in France international, who has 19 caps, began his career at Toulouse before moving to Borussia Monchengladbach.
Carlos Baleba requests United move
Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba is still eager to join Manchester United after his £100 million price tag proved a stumbling block last summer. Fabrizio Romano reports that Baleba’s representatives have reached out to United again to explore a move. The 22-year-old is keen to play under Carrick, and with his fee now reduced to approximately £70 million, he could become a viable option.
The Cameroon central or defensive midfielder has three goals in 92 appearances for Brighton.
