Manchester United have reportedly held talks with the agent of Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson, as the club continues to overhaul its squad under manager Ruben Amorim. The Red Devils have already secured the signings of Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5 million and Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford for £70 million, but are still seeking a centre-forward to compete with Rasmus Hojlund.
United have also made a late bid to hijack Viktor Gyokeres' move from Sporting Lisbon to Arsenal, offering between €70-80 million (£60-69 million). However, BBC Sport reports that a meeting has taken place with Jackson's agent Ali Barat, indicating the club is exploring multiple options.
Jackson, 24, finds himself in a difficult position at Chelsea after the club signed Liam Delap and Joao Pedro this summer. Both strikers impressed during Chelsea's Club World Cup campaign, and Jackson is now considering his future. Despite Chelsea slapping a £100 million price tag on the Senegal international, he has been linked with moves to AC Milan and Aston Villa, and could be sold if the right offer arrives.
Jackson joined Chelsea from Villarreal for £32 million in 2023 and has scored 30 goals with 12 assists in 81 appearances. However, his inconsistency in front of goal and recent disciplinary issues—including two red cards in his last five games—have raised questions. United's interest comes amid Chelsea's potential pursuit of United winger Alejandro Garnacho, who has been placed in the 'bomb squad' along with Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia.
